Laureal Foundation Academic enrichment Program
What about Academic enrichment ?
The Laureal Foundation is a non-profit making organization which is passionate about improving lives of orphans, the less privileged, and the impoverished in underprivileged communities through access to quality education and vocational training across three African countries: Cameroon, Ghana and Nigeria..
The importance of education cannot be overemphasized especially to the less privileged that cannot afford it. Education is a powerful tool that can help the impoverished can break the cycle of poverty, empowers them to be employable, and guides them to make informed decisions. It contributes to community development which in turn improves the overall quality of lives of the people.
Since its inception in 2023, the Laureal Foundation has been devoted to empowering young individuals, providing them with the necessary skills to navigate life’s challenges through various educational initiatives and opportunities which impact their lives positively and to help develop a brighter future.
Over 15 children has been taken off the streets and enrolled in schools in Cameroon, 80 students (Ikorodu Nigeria, Mbouda Cameroon and Salaga Ghana) who are in public schools across the three countries mentioned above has gotten school supplies like backpack, notebooks, textbooks, calculators, school uniforms just to mention a few. We have identified 12 promising students from poor homes and have offered them scholarships. The testimonies from the recipients of these humanitarian gestures have spurred us to do even more, touching more lives and putting smiles on more faces.
Also, many have benefitted from our vocational education, which is helping to prepare students for specific careers and industries. This helps individuals with practical skills and training in a specific trade or occupation. Some of our vocation programs include technical training, trades (carpentry, plumbing), agriculture (farming, animal science) and automotive repair. The aim is to equip individuals with skills and knowledge that is required to succeed in certain fields or careers which in turn gives them a means of livelihood.
However, despite the achievements we have had within this short period, our aim is to offer countless number of children and youths quality education through our several educational programs. Carrying the task alone has been cumbersome; therefore we are soliciting for funds from well-meaning individuals to assist us in our goal to serve humanity. This will enable us reach out to more people and hopefully more states within these three countries.
Like the popular quote from Mahatma Gandhi which says “the true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members”. The impoverished around us also deserve better lives and our support can go a long way in helping them achieve that. Our support towards their education and wellbeing can help create a lasting impact on their lives. We are hopeful that the general public joins hands with us with their donations to help the less privilege to become educated and break the cycle of hardship and poverty.
